Hi,
I found your post and was just wondering how you got to have bone marrow biopsy before being given the Hydrea. I have high platelets that were first found about one month ago and no JAK2 gene. It just seems excessive for doctor to be giving Hydrea so fast. I have no previous cardiovascular events. I did just turn Medicare age. Honestly, I do not feel age alone is a terrible risk factor. I take nothing but vitamins and exercise about 45 minutes daily walking and biking. I would just like to confirm exactly what I have before taking medication.
I'm 47 so I think it has more to do with my age & the fact that I have never had an issue with clotting & all of my other gene testing came back normal. My highest was around 750 but my last labs were down to around 615 with only being on low dose Aspirin. My doctor said it would fluctuate.
