Anyone have experience with tingling and loss of feeling in fingers?

Posted by jethelbee @jethelbee, Nov 3, 2023

I have developed this difficulty recently. I once had carpal tunnel but this tingling in the hands and loss of feeling in the fingers is different. It shows up when I'm still in bed in the morning, when I sit to write or drink tea, when I sit still to watch TV. I do have irregular heart rhythms for which I am being treated. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I recently started with tingling in my fingers while I slept at night. The pain would wake me up. I took a MRI which shows a herniated disc in the neck area. I'm doing PT now, but might need a cortisone shot. Sleeping on my side eliminates the pain at night.

Sometimes if I sleep on my left arm, my hand goes numb (in spite of wearing fleece gloves), and the pain wakes me up. Just changing sides or dangling arm over the side of the bed doesn't help; I have to get out of bed and do some walking and/or swinging my arms to get the circulation going and "wake" it up.
If my hands are cold, it helps to squeeze one of those beanbag-like bags that can be heated in the microwave. The moist heat helps, and stays warm long enough to warm up my hands.
