Has anyone used CBD oil for chronic pain? And do you have results?
I'm a chronic pain suffer of 35+ years. Scoliosis is the culprit. Not a disfiguring curve but non the less painfully destructive. Almost every disc is bulging from 3mm to 6mm. I've had 2 spinal fusion. C 3-7 and L 4-5. Have 4 nerve root impengements with spondylosis in some areas and stenosis at interval from neck to sacral. Take steroid shots when I can with positive results for a few weeks. Always have Norco 5mg/325 ready if needed. Unfortunately I have found the best way to keep pain down is to lie down. So most of my days are spent on my bed. Any suggestions?

I am not needing surgery. I take no Rx drugs or narcotics. Surgery is now not required according to latest mri’s.
You’ve seen my mri’s and x-rays? Your suggestion that I “need surgery for my back issues” is based on what? My comments on my pain? That seems rather unprofessional. I’m glad you are finding relief for your pain but using narcotics sounds iffy and heading towards possible addiction. Have YOU had surgery and what were the results?
My back was similar to yours back in 1988. You’re in pain and it would appear not well controlled so you’re seeking other sources of relief. I’m a retired nurse and my fall stopped my career in its tracks. The steroid injections only help temporarily and they hasten bone destruction too, which is why they are limited. Once you keep searching for stronger pain relief where will you stop? I’m not being insensitive but practical and giving you another view point for treatment.
CBD has never done anything for me.
Thank you for your viewpoint but I have never fallen and my pain was limited. I no longer have the pain I had, no surgery, no Rx pain meds & no narcotics. Now not taking any cbd. Or anything else. I have lost 4 pounds since seeing my primary in November. Changed my diet ( I am about 10 pounds ‘overweight’ ). 140 pounds 5’2”. No big medical problems. So I will keep doing what I am doing. The only surgery I’ve ever had was for wrist tendinitis ( 40 years ago work related) and an artificial big toe joint due to a huge bone spur from osteoarthritis. I walk 2 miles a day all weather. I wish you luck in finding a pain free life. PS I am 76
I did and it didn’t phase my CRPS. I am NOT Into using pills. I think they mask issues or create new ones. My suggestion, if you’re not into pills, get refined sugar out of your diet. COMPLETELY! I’ve done it and can’t believe the change in my body. You will have withdrawals from it. They last a short period of time. Nasty headache. Drink water and try magnesium. Both have helped. I’m walking again. What a change in my complexion and energy. It’s like the fountain of youth. I’m In favor of not having insurance pick up the price of these meds. You’ll not have an issue of facing the “donut hole” with prescription drugs maxing out. I’m 72 and not on prescription medication. Eat fruits and veggies. Fish and poultry. Exercise.
Surgery isn’t always the answer. I’ve had 12 failed SI joint fusions. I also had my L5S1 fused. Last year I had my L 4 disc fused. A year later I have a big herniated disc at L3 pushing on my sac. nerve causing severe pain. Thankfully the injection made my pain somewhat manageable. I now need another fusion. It only took one year for my last fusion to push on the disc above. I am going to hold off as long as I can to prevent another fusion down the road. So surgery isn’t always the answer. I’m living with severe pain. Pain meds no longer work. It was recommended that I try a pain stimulator. So I’m in the process of doing that.
I wish you well in conquering your pain. Hang in there. You are proof surgery is not always helpful. The MD I was seeing first said looks like you need injections ( they worked for my neck 40 years ago). Did not help my lower spine. Then he said minor surgery, try another injection. Finally he said I needed major surgery. I declined, he got mad. Now I have minor pain with some pain in one leg, nothing I can’t handle. I am careful when walking (1-2 miles a day), changed my diet and losing weight though I need to lose only 10 pounds. Stay hopeful .
Same here and I am 76. Changed my “ good diet” into a better one in late November. Lost 4 lbs. so far. Holidays were not helpful ( no thanks I love your desserts but one is enough). First 2 weeks cutting out refined carbs & sugar, I had minor headaches and was very irritable. Better now.
