I was wondering if the 7% saline nebulizer product sold on Amazon is safe for use? It does not require a prescription as does the 3% I am currently using.
Hello, and welcome to Mayo Connect. We can only share our own experience hare, and not speak for all of Amazon, of course, but many of us have gotten our saline on Amazon when it was not available locally.
Some of us may buy supplements there as well.
Here is my personal guideline for safe purchasing - I look for products sold by Amazon, or by another larger vendor through Amazon. For example, the Naveh brand and Base Laboratories brand are both available to me through my pharmacist, so I am comfortable ordering on Amazon as each company is listed as the vendor.
There may be others, but I stick to those I know.

Very helpful, @sueinmn ! I ordered & received the Base saline from Amazon and was chagrined to read that it's manufactured in China. So many of our medications are. It's good to know you sometimes get the Base brand through local pharmacy. Shortly after using it, I had a flare up of bronchiectasis and attributed it to that. Looking back I think it was sheer coincidence. Thanks for the reassurance.

I personally have no problem with it as ingredients are sodium chloride and purified water. But, if you have apprehensions, I would highly recommend speaking with your healthcare provider.
@kc88 ... I found acupuncture very helpful in decreasing the frequency of my constant cough. The nerves were so agitated that acupuncture worked to calm them. The other cause of coughing was acid reflux/asthma and bronchiectasis after a MAC infection which has been treated with nebulizer asthma meds and postural drainage for many years now. I've been free of exacerbations for 10 years now.
