My understanding is Paxlovid will only be prescribed as indicated for Patients who have tested positive for Covid. Although it seems reasonable to request as a just in case on international travel, either the physician may chose to strictly follow the FDA approved indication or your insurance may not cover it due to not having active Covid. Let us know if you are able to secure the 5 day dosing to take on a trip. I would also like to do the same

Yes, I thought the same. Active Covid to qualify. It’s worth a conversation though. I would like to already be prepared if I come done with it again!

My GP said that the rules had recently changed. I had asked early in 2023 and the answer was no, then about a month ago in a follow up conversation he stated that he could.
