I would too! I'm so sorry 😞
I'm glad you've got an appointment with another doctor and yes!! go to the ER as suggested.
Please keep us posted so we can support you; you'll be in our thoughts
@pazzion8lady Your situation is so disturbing! Having an untreated relapse from AML will allow this disease to move along rapidly. Have you been offered ANY treatment after you found out your AML has returned? There are abrogating drugs which can often slow the progression, at least long enough for you to get in with another hematologist oncologist.
At the very least, if there truly is nothing that can be done to offset this, you should be offered palliative care and/or hospice! It feels like you’ve been hung out to dry! If this progresses you’ll be requiring blood and possibly platelet transfusions over the coming weeks.
I’m liking @timt347 recommendation to go to the ER…especially if you’re feeling light headed, temperature over 100.4, extremely fatigued, weak, short of breath, cough, or any prolonged bleeding from a cut or a nose bleed… With AML these are all very legitimate reasons to go to the ER.
Don’t rely on your past doctors to get you this recommendation. You’re going to need to reach out on your own. Please check in your area for possible other doctors and make a call!
Write down what you want to say when you make the call. Be succinct and don’t talk about your past doctors. Move forward to the next step! Let the scheduler know that this is urgent and you need a second opinion ASAP because you’re not ready to stop fighting! Will you do that please??
