Hi, @bayhorse, I use a prescription 5% lidocaine patch for arthritis. It has no fragrance or scent that I’ve detected. The generic I receive is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals, size is 10 cm x 14 cm. My Dr. told me I could use up to 3 at a time if the pain is widespread. It’s very effective. You’ll need a script from your physician, and your pharmacist can tell you what brand they stock.

I also occasionally use Diclofenac Sodium topical gel, 1%. The last tube I purchased was Voltaren gel, which is available OTC. It has what I consider a medicinal smell which I don’t notice once it dries after application. It is very effective. There are other brands of the same medication. Maybe a pharmacist can advise you which has the least ‘fragrance’.

Thanks, sjd416. Are there any side effects from the lidocaine patches? And what kind of physician prescribed these for you? None of my doctors has even mentioned patches to me, and I've been struggling with joint and muscle pain for quite some time!
