@grandmar so thats why my legs where weak after the back injection I never related it till now but the relief didn't last long I hope your last test shows something that will be positive for you .My upper back is the one giving me pain now I think this is the bulging disc ,neurosurgeon hopefully we,ll help ,here,s hoping for good news for you 🙂
I had injections for back pain years ago. They either did nothing or gave me some relief for 5 or 6 days. It seems like one of those bones they throw you when they really should be prescribing meds but they don't want to. Again I say it. The ultimate solution for back pain is the pain pump inserted in your abdomen with a catheter running up your spine dripping a couple of milligrams of Dilaudid over 24 hours with a little remote control that gives you the possibility of giving yourself even smaller doses when you need them. surgery on my lower back having a disc taken out didn't do much of anything. Having three vertebrae fused in my neck was the most successful surgery I Ever Had other than getting the pump installed. The pump the pump the pump the pump you've got to try the pump. Think about it 3 mg of Dilaudid which is much stronger than morphine, and is 300 times more effective when delivered directly to your spine then when you eat it. I believe it is very close to being synthetic heroin which is absolutely Nature's best painkiller. those shots are painful you're pumping yourself full of chemicals that you don't really know the long term effect of and they really work and no one tries to pass them off as a permanent solution. Good luck love & blessings

Thank you sharing your story!
Your story came at the most amazing time.
I was moaning and growing in pain all night, disturbing my hubby.
I am not one to pop pain meds very easily.
For years, if I took one, maybe two a month, it was unusual.
Over the last year, I am taking it more and more often, although a lot less than prescribed.
I fear the threat of addiction to opioids.
And since this merely takes off the edge rather than omit the pain, I weigh it very carefully before taking one.
I know that I am not done with options, yet, including additional surgery; I'll know more Tuesday when I have my appointment with my neurosurgeon on Tuesday.
However, I am strongly considering having a discussion with the doc regarding a pain med pump.
I need to do some additional research first
Thanks again,
Ronnie (GRANDMAr)
@lioness
Good Morning,
Please remember that I am not a medical person, I can just share my experiences.
(Although after all I have gone through, I wonder if I can get my medical degree for experience only. LOL)
I hope you also get some answers from your neurosurgeon.
Here's to hope for us all...……….
Ronnie (GRANDMAR)
Hi Ronnie: You are wise to explore as many options as you can to deal with your pain! Being able to look outside-the-box is an important quality to achieve both mental and physical health. I do admire how you approach your health problems!
Teresa
Thank you Teresa!
Have a great day!
Ronnie
I am getting shot in my back along my spine. Lower back. Last week I got shots in my neck. Dr advised me these shots only good for about 4 hrs. It is a requirement now that they do this sample test twice before doing shits lasting anout 5 months I hope.
Wish 66. Kill us with rotten drugs but no marijuana. I cannot tell you how much it helped me. But Teaxas no way. I will bring pump up. He said try these shots and if that doesn't work not work we will try something else. In the past they kind if put me out. Can't do that anymore either. The shits in my neck hurt.
@grandmar I was up all night no hubby to awake though .I see rheumatologist on 21 so am going to talk with her something has to help I want to also do research more on pain pump ,the pain meds I'm on certainly don't work anymore. Let pray for a better week.
@galib
Hi Gail,
Thank you for your kind words.
I find it interesting that you feel I am positive. I have to laugh because my hubby and I always feel I'm the person with the glass half empty.
I am sorry for all you are experiencing. Yes, I can actually say that I literally feel your pain. It sucks!!!!!
You said that the pain and weakness in your legs are coming back. Do you take injections in your back?
My shots used to work only a couple of days until I found my last pain doc. He was the only one out of 5 pain docs to help me. I would get 6-10 weeks relief as long as I behaved. It was amazing. However, when it wore off.....OUCH!!!!!!! If you do take shots, could they be wearing off? I know that when my pain is in full force, I become chair bound and barely walk. As a result, my legs become VERY weak. After the shot I walk as much as possible to build them back up. But when the pain reoccurs, I stop walking, again. A horrible circle.
I've done all the conventional and least invasive procedures. None are left to try. I am hoping they find something with the mylogram CT I took yesterday, that can be fixed. I know I need surgery on L4/5 but I don't know what kind or when. I think I will probably need more cervical surgery, too.
I hope you have a nice evening.....
Ronnie
