Phlegm in my throat and post nasal drip after Covid
Ever since I had covid in January of 2022 I recovered from the virus but I was left with a constant phlegm in the back of my throat and post nasal drip that will not go away. The feeling of having mucus in the back of my throat actually gets worse when I try to get rid of it by coughing. I have been given steroid inhalers, albuterol, allergy medication, but none of these work. The mucus gets worse especially after I eat. I've never felt like this before and it all started after covid. Can anybody relate to what I am going through?

I caught covid October 2022, still suffering from mucus.
Just like you I wonder if it will go away.
Struggling with it, tried everything so far.
Let’s hope for the best!!
Try Oil of Oregano nasal spray. It kills all the gunk and helped me. Burns though!
God Bless You! I have had this thick mucousy salvia in the back of my throat since COVID last August and I had COVID again in October of this year which ramped it up even more. Nothing has taken it away and I have been to several doctors who have no answers. The mouth culture I had done came back as normal mouth bacteria....but this stuff is not normal. I use salt water rinses (salt thins the mucous temporarily), I scrape my tongue daily first thing in the morning using Colgate Peroxdyl to get this stuff off my tongue, I use a waterpik, and I try and drink lots of water. Any antihistamines I have tried helps, but, do not dry up the mucous, BUT do dry out my eyes. I'm praying it will wear itself out. I have gotten choked on this at night. That has not happened lately and i am grateful. Praying you get relief. I care and understand.
thankyou!!
May God ease on all of us from this issue.
I had this over two years,
May I ask did you take the covid vaccines, if so, how many.
I got all vaccines and booster with no issues, But, my post covid issues started shortly after I got sick with what we believe was covid. I had classic symptoms, though fairly mild. Then, all hey broke loose.
Like so many here, I’ve had this thick sticky mucus in my throat that won’t go away after recovering from Covid almost a year ago. I’ve been bouncing back and forth between a pulmonologist and an ENT trying to find a way to end this misery. It’s constant and debilitating. Trying yet another nasal spray today along with a prescribed nightly antihistamine. At this point, nothing has helped at all. Doctor said next step will be a nasal CT scan if these meds don’t help. It’s so exhausting coughing up mucus all day long and not finding any relief.
I had a CT scan last December. Multiple ENTs said the CT scan results looked "errily good". So frustrating! One recommended lifestyle changes. The next ENT wanted me to drive three hours away to do food allergy testing. I had already been skin and blood allergy tested. ZERO allergies.
Praying hard everyday.
I’m so worried that’s exactly what’s going to happen to me since nobody has been able to find a definitive cause or recommend anything that helps at all. On my way to pick up my new meds now. Not very optimistic but no other choice but to keep moving forward and pray for some relief. I wish you the very best!!
I have this also, going on three years. I am taking baking soda at night and chlortrimetron during day and it helps - some. Some.
