My rheumatologist suggested Lyrica; however its effects are close to Gabapentin, which I’ve taken in the past and just restarted. It takes awhile to work (and also helps a bit with anxiety). I also have grappled with social anxiety disorder. I find that a .25 gram of Xanax helps me without knocking me out. I also take a low dose of Zoloft. You might want to compare gabapentin to Lyrica.
