My husband has been on Zytiga and Prednisone for 5 months. His moods are getting darker. His latest PSA test was undetectable. Should he ask his oncologist about stopping therapy? He did have advanced cancer.

I have been on Zytiga and Prednisone for 32 days. I am 68 and single, living alone. I have stage 4 cancer.
PLEASE never stop therapy!
I suffer from lack of sleep from these medications. Yes, I do have dark moods as well.
Encourage him to be with other people. Be patient, kind, compassionate, and loving. Be aware his libido (as well as mine) is very low because Zytiga stops the production of testosterone. HE IS STILL A MAN!
I will pray 🙏 for both of you.
Remember "God will never leave you, nor forsake you."

My husband had 20 rounds of radiation and has been taking Zytiga (1000 mg) and prednisone (5 mg) daily plus Lupron every three moths for 1.5 years. He has a half of a year to go. We also had very poor results on the Decipher test which is why this regime was prescribed. He has good and bad moods. His psa is undetectable. We asked the doctor what will happen after he stops taking the drugs (at the 2 year point). We were told he would still have the psa tests every three months; if it rises, they will recommend other therapies. My husband is 81 and we have decided we not have any other therapy after he stops the Zytiga/Prednisone and Lupron.
