Hi, @swright9. It’s interesting that both of your parents had the Factor V Leiden gene mutation. It’s an inherited condition that can increase the risk for developing blood clots. Inheriting the trait from both sides, that significantly increases your risk. I’m happy to read that you’re ahead of the game with taking blood thinners and keeping active.

Did your parents ever have any clotting issues?

Yes, they would stop taking their medication and end up in the hospital with pulmonary clots and be hospitalized.

My mother died if blood clots in 1968 but I never had a blood clots till now at age 79
