Has anyone had experience implementing a heavy weight lifting program similar to what is described in the LiftMOR study?

Hello @jasperina, I thought I would post a link to the LiftMOR study for others who are not familiar with the details.

the liftmor program has shown great results, BUT, no sure how possible it is for 79 year olds.., even if we have been active, and lifting weights that we can.
Pullups and dropping? heavy weights overheadlifting?
The weights being used have to be significant to show bone improvement.
Best to go forward with this with skilled supervision.

Yes, I agree about supervision. I have been working with a trainer in the gym and we will be working these exercises in, starting with very little weight and building up over time.

I'm once again starting to do the same[ liftmor ideas with supervision]. Just back to PT again yesterday and lifting weight overhead as I stand[ sit to stand]. Just 5 or 8 pounds i think. It's a start. and I love her support, encouragement and know how to intervene and modify, and even push a bit here and there. It can be hard to do on one's own I find. I can get discouraged, and not want to do it 'now', etc etc. I found my session lifted my spirits as well as addressed lifting weights. I think that's so important! Good to have this forum and all of your input as well!
