@hopeful33250 Next time I see the pain specialist I am going to ask about this as I am in need of help on several levels.
@parus Good idea. I look forward to hearing what he/she says.
I hope that you are feeling better with some sunshine.

I sometimes experience this, too. If I get anxious, or someone makes me angry, I can feel the muscles in my lower back spasm causing severe pain. Being in this group, I've earned a lot. There are good suggestions here, and it's a place where I can vent when the pain is really bad. I'm also a member of the Depression Group which helps me, too. My physical pain is sometimes brought on by anxiety, which depresses me, and then I get angry with myself because I'm depressed, and then the pain becomes more severe. It's just a great, big MESS that goes round and round. I truly wish you luck. And if I may be so bold, you might want to also join the Depression Group. Take care. @cognac
Hi @cognac. I can certainly relate. Angry, mad, anxiety, stress, plus pain = SUCKS!I I sometimes think the depression, and anxiety brings on more pain as I can feel my muscles tighten. I’m antidepressants but really don’t think they do anything. Next visit to my dr. I want to see what she thinks. I am totally unhappy in my marriage and want out...so that does nothing to help me! I’m 64 and shouldn’t have to live it out this miserable, but financially it would be very tough living on disability. Listen to me...I think I need to go vent to the depression group!! Thanks for listening!
anxiety and depression will definitely increase your experience of pain. Unfortunately Medicare won't pay for couch time with a psychologist. They will however pay for a new test it's a it's called genesight testing and you send into swabs and they can predict with great accuracy which antidepressant and anti-anxiety drugs will work best for you. the downside is the doctor has to register and be willing to take part in this activity. The upside is if you are on any kind of government insurance Medicare and or Medicaid this will be a hundred percent paid for. don't be afraid of psychotropic meds Lexapro Prozac Zoloft all of these drugs are extremely helpful. Amitriptyline is used as an antidepressant it also helps with pain from neuropathy the odd pains left in your feet from chemotherapy. It can make you tired it may take awhile to get used to it but too many people feel that they shouldn't be using psychotropic meds that they shouldn't have to depend on that but getting rid of your depression in your anxiety can do as much to relieve your pain and easier experience of pain but getting rid of your depression in your anxiety can do as much to relieve your pain and easier experience of pain as any opioid you can get your hands on.
@jimhd Bummer. Thanks for letting us know. Sun with weather that has almost reached my age. Still struggling with pain and depression. Thing is we still are trying.
