Does anyone with AFIB NOT take blood thinners?

I am very sorry to hear you are going through this. You are not alone.

My EP doc told me if I went into AFib and flecainide did not bring me back into sinus rhythm after a couple of days, to make an appointment for a cardioversion and to come in fasting. Start Eliquis twice a day. If you don't have an EP doctor, it is a good idea to start seeing one.

When you see your cardiologist or EP, discuss the pill in the pocket approach to always carry an anti-arrhythmic and anticoagulant with you. I have both prescriptions on my med list as " as needed" meds. I always carry them with me.

If you continue to feel poorly or are not hearing back from your cardiologist, go back to the ER. I had many visits to the ER in 2020 and 2021 because I was passing out in stores, chest pain, dizzy, hypoxic, etc after Covid and Covid shots. I won't take another flu shot or any vaccine ever.

In addition to your Kardia, you may want to check your blood oxygen level with an oximeter, and blood pressure.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted.

@janet23 I have a little mini-hospital on my bed: thermometer, Kardia, blood pressure cuff, oximeter 🙂

My pill in a pocket is diltiazem because my afib usually comes with heart rate close to 200. This time more like 80-90 and only when I am up. Weird! It is quite a bit better today after 36 hours off Paxlovid.

I have not heard of pill in a pocket anticoagulant. I have asked numerous times about short term blood thinners. I am switching to MGH cardiology and will ask. Thanks!!!!
