Upper right lobectomy for stage 1 adeno 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.3 cm anyone?

Posted by silvergirl29 @silvergirl29, Nov 14, 2023

So I met with the surgeon and he feels confident that a lobectomy is the way to go as it is only stage one and this sounds great to me especially given that I was afraid it wouldn't be an option as there are nodules in all the lobes but now I'm a little scared 🙂 can anyone advise on what it is like to go through ?

It’s Mayoclinic.org
Just type in Yoga. Here is a screen shot:

If you go to the Mayo Clinic website and just search in the website search it will show you all types of things. Like type in Yoga video and it will take you to it, or meditation videos, etc.

Radiofrequency ablation followed by 2 rounds of Immunotherapy will cure your lung cancer without surgery.

I am glad that worked for you and think my doctors would have suggested it if it were appropriate for me but I will ask out of curiosity ,thanks!

In June of 23, I was the first person to have Ablation done to my Lung Tumor at the Mayo Clinic. The only doctor that I know of that is doing this type of cancer treatment is the head of the radiology department at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. They are looking for 14 more healthy people with a cancer tumor that can be Ablated to cure of lung cancer.

(66 y.o. male from Ames, IA now s/p ablation of 2.3 x 3.2 x 3.4 cm left lung mass.
Using sterile technique, and CT guidance, and general anesthesia provided by the
Department of Anesthesiology, percutaneous pulsed electrical field ablation of a lingular mass was performed using a single electrode for 8 overlapping ablations. A percutaneous biopsy of the mass was done prior to the ablation. Doing well in post-procedure area without N/V, uncontrolled pain, or difficulty speaking or swallowing. Post-procedural chest XR shows no development of pneumothorax.)

I had Stage 1b EGFR non small cell adenocarcinoma. Had segmentectomy - Robot Assisted Thoracic Surgery. Recovery was not bad at all. (I was 78.) Overnight in hospital. Removal of chest tube was easy. If surgery can remove all the cancer, you’ll be done. Pathology report post surgery showed some cell migration to my pleura so doc reco’d 4 rounds f chemo followed by 3 years of Tagrisso (1 pill a day). Best of luck to you. So many cancers are now treatable and I know several people who are thriving after 15 years. Have hope.

I had my lower right lobe removed on Nov. 21
I am 72 years old. The first night they kept me pretty drugged up.
I was released on the 23rd.
Tube removal not bad at all.
It will be 1 week tomorrow!
Mine should be cured by surgery alone, pathology report not back yet!
