Responding to LightAlma
I have not found that medications work, however a visit to my physical therapist to do the Epley maneuver fixes it. Sometimes the crystals in my ear get out of whack. This will cause vertigo when I look up, move my head a certain way, or if I sleep on the wrong side. Be sure the therapist you see is trained to determine the correct ear that is causing the problem and they are proficient in performing the Epley or some other maneuver to fix it. After the maneuver I have to keep my head straight and avoid any sudden head turns for a couple of days. I have actually learned to do it myself, but only after I had several episodes through the years. Also, I usually have warning that it is coming on, and the more quickly I perform the maneuver the less likely it is to turn into a severe case of debilitating vertigo.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you so much for your advice. I will certainly do what you suggest. I guess it will always be with us but learning how to cope is a wonderful help. Thank you again.
