My dentist and our friend who is a retired dentist agree with you. Furthermore, 25 years ago, my ENT said that the WaterPik was contributing to my recurrent sinus infections. When I stopped, the frequency did decrease by half.

wow that's interesting re the Sinus infections. I'm glad there are others who agree with my dentists and if you think about it it does make sense.
