← Return to Withdrawal due to discontinuing microdose of metoprolol

Hi there! While it is a low dose, I take the same amount. Some of us are just extremely sensitive to beta blockers. I switched from the tartrate to the succinate, metoprolol. Helped IMMENSELY. Also, they come in 25mg (succinate, long acting). Although these are slow release, they are scored and you can break them in half, taking 12.5mg at a time.

I don't have tanking heart rates, like I did on the tartrate. A resting heart rate in the 50s is actually good. 80 to 110 resting is way too high.

Anyway, you may just be sensitive to that med. Some of us are. That's OK. If it's keeping your heart from going over 100 when resting, even at a small dose.... I'd say stay on it. Just get the succinate in 25mg pills and cut them in half.

Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks.
That's the most difficult part. I don't remember my heart rate before getting on Metoprolol since I was a teenager and wasn't so aware. And now it makes it even more difficult to understand if it's a withdrawal or if I really have arrythmia.
