@elizabeth44 hi Elizabeth, I had to have nasal polyp surgery 30 years ago. Wow, that’s an entire lifetime ago! I think I had several but I don’t remember. I wish you the best with yours.

Thank you so much for your reply, Susan. Do you remember if the polyp was in one nostril only? This is a key answer. Polyps in both nostrils is normal but if it is only in one it could be malignant. I will appreciate your reply. Thank you again, tons and tons.
Gosh I have a large polyp in one nostril and haven't given it a thought. I went to Mass Eye and Ear for something else and they looked in my nostril and didn't say anything about it. Hmmm. Let me know! I guess it matters if it is getting bigger!

I definitely do not want to scare you but I have one as well and was told that nasal polyps in one nostril could be cancerous. This is why I am in a panic. I promise you I will let you know what the ENT tells me after he sees my MRI and checks me by looking inside my nose. Hopefully, it is a false alarm and again, promise you, to let you know today. I am seeing the ENT at 11:00 am TODAY.

Unfortunately, the doctor checked me and strongly believes the polyp is cancerous plus it is on one side only. He just ordered a sinus cat scan.........it has been scheduled for the 20th of Nov. In the meantime, he gave me some antibiotics to see if it shrinks.......if it does, there is hope if it does not i am going straight for radiation and chemo. Life is not easy!! I will keep you informed no matter of the outcome. Thanks for caring.

I wish you the BEST, I hope everything will be different than mine. My symptoms were a lot of sneezing, postnasal drip, eye pain. Please do, please go to an ENT and have you checked with the camera. I always thought my symptoms were from allergies but I was wrong.

Well, he suspects doesn’t mean that he’s correct. I’m sure the wait is giving you anxiety. I would be very anxious myself. But the good news is that they have not made any definitive diagnosis yet.
You have time to let the antibiotics take effect and then they can start treating you.
Blessings on you as you continue on this journey.
