Diagnosed with Uterine Cancer (Leiomyosarcoma)
I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer (Leiomyosarcoma) this month. Two months ago large mass was found in my uterus. Prior to that, there were no signs or symptoms of large mass. I received my Covid vaccine on 12/9/21 on the first day of my cycle. My period went from being very heavy to light spotting that month. This never happens. Ten days later I went into the ER due to severe pelvic and abdominal pain. A CT scan confine a large tumor (tennis ball) growing in my uterus. I have no history of fibroids and a recent Ultrasound confirms that. Less than a month later I developed Covid(delta/omicron unknown) and my recovery time over three weeks. During that time my uterus/tumor doubled in size, as if I was in my last trimester of pregnancy. A full hysterectomy was performed and biopsy confirms uterine cancer (lmsarcoma). I believe the Covid vaccine and infection triggered the cancerous tumor to grow rapidly in a short period of time causing the pain and discomfort to manifest. Curious if anyone else has experience with the impact of Covid and cancer.

I’m trying to constantly acknowledge that, today, I’m completely healthy. I have my baseline of fear and anxiety, but to live in it, alone is wasting time. Literally. I want to be watched closely, now, very closely. I won’t fake positivity, but I also won’t wallow in negativity. Obviously, I’ll keep reading and asking and hope the medical community comes up with new early detection and treatment methods. Good luck to all of us.
Wow! My doctor told me about the possibility of it traveling to my lungs. That scared me. So much is out of our control - very hard to accept that. Will you be doing more chemo? What is your dr suggesting?
I love your first words, I am healthy! That’s a powerful affirmation, and you have a realistic, and honest awareness. I too choose not to allow negativity to rule. Lonleness is tough one, think it’s my own doing. Would like to have more friends in this secret society of c patients to share and learn experiences and coping skills. A little off from what you expressed, however I am great full you shared this. .. jm
Did you have a hysterectomy? You are in my prayers 🙏🏿
Yes. More chemotherapy is scheduled until February 2024. I am battling extreme leg swelling and leg pain. Any suggestions on this for relief?
Bless your heart. You are not alone my sistah, we are on this battle field fighting with you. I am praying for your strength and faith.
Yes. That is how they found the LMS
I pray that all goes well for you....let me change that, I know that it will all go well with you. Your complete healing is on the way. Be encouraged.
Thank you.
I wish I knew. Just hang on…
