From a UCLA professor of Opthalmology with a retina specialty I learned that Preservision AREDS2 slows the progression of dry ARMD into wet ARMD by 25%.

I’m not reporting my “opinion” here. This is medical science. We need to be selective about our sources.

Elsewhere in this thread, I posted a very well written article (not opinion) about how “eye vitamins” are actually not proven to prevent or slow the progression of AMD. Obviously, everyone has to decide for themselves who they’re going to listen to, what they’re going to believe, and what course of action they’re going to take for their own health. Just know that the “science” is not “settled” on this subject. And the vitamin companies have a lot to gain through various studies that “prove” their vitamin works.

That is exactly what I was told when I started on Areds2 years ago. I do attribute my DRY AMD to Areds2 at age 77. My mother's siblings all were blind with AMD by the time they were my age. I am lucky, I guess, becasue I have never had any side effects from Areds2. Thank you for posting accurate information re: Areds2.
