AREDs also made me feel sick so I started taking "NOW Supplements, Lutein & Zeaxanthin with 25 mg Lutein and 5 mg Zeaxanthin, 60 Softgels" which mimicked the two ingredients I wasn't getting other places and does not have the ingredients that cause problems and I felt much better

Is the NOW Supplement you mention an over the counter thing? I quit all the AREDS now and have not had any gastrointestinal or other side effects, which I believe was due to the high amounts of zinc. I am taking no vitamins now except Vit D and the Rx meds for low thyroid and borderline high blood pressure (respectively 30+ years and 2 years, never had a reaction to those meds). But I have read that Lutein & Zeaxanthin are used directly by the retina so I’m willing to try those if they come with nothing else
