Yes, that's why I referenced the use of a blowdryer plus hood dryers daily during my years as a hairstylist. I've noticed the tinnitus had gotten worse when I cut down on my xanax and that's something they give FOR tinnitus. I went back to the 1mg daily to see if that was why. If it isn't, I'll decrease again and stop it.

Let us know if changing your use of Xanax helps. Noise, drugs, both prescriptive and OTC; sodium, caffeine, heredity, and even some foods have been named as causes of tinnitus.

Stress management techniques are often helpful when practiced regularly. That includes mindfulness, physical exercise, breathing exercises, etc. We are all different. We really don't know of any one thing that causes or eliminates tinnitus. It helps to share what works. If something doesn't work for you that works for someone else don't be surprised. I am thankful that researchers are working on this. Prior to a few decades ago very little research emphasis was focused on anything related to the ear and hearing.
