Hazel, this is Marield65, if I lived in Florida I would not be bored. I just sent you a long post.
But I really can't handle the humidity, but I would be in the pool. What part of Florida? Marie
Hi Sharon, my pain mgmt doc referred this treatment as last resort. Asked all around for opinions and was not happy with their replies. I have all the spinal issues, stenois and more as well as Fibromyalgia. Let me know down the line how this is working for you. signed

Marie, believe it or not, I don't know how to swim! I've even taken adult coward classes, and I still ended up clinging to the side of the pool. Sigh. The humidity here is way too much for me. I spend summers indoors as much as possible, in the AC, and under a ceiling fan.

Marie, forgot to reply: I live in faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar northern Florida, north of Tallahassee, not far from the Florida/Georgia state line.
victorious69 here: reading peach 414's request for help. Have tried your suggestions. Will see what happens. I still want to keep in touch with Chronic pain posters. blessings
from peach to all: what helps me with the pains is getting into a large deep tub with hot, hot water and soak, of course with a glass of orange ade and a small tv off to the side. for whatever reason why this helps me for some of the pains i do not know, but it does for a while and still feels good after emerging from the tub. to old for this now. really wish medicare would help to pay for the "walk in tubs" for the people in need for this. and it is sure safer than a shower.
When I was three years old, my family was at a public pool with a slide in the shallow end and a high dive at the deep end. My mother thought I said I want to "slide". What I actually said was that I wanted to "dive". She looked up in time to see me climbing the ladder. She started screaming as I ran down the board and jumped off! I had to be rescued. She then took me and my three sisters to the YMCA for swimming classes. We all went for years and each earned our life saving degrees. My mother never learned to swim, but she had four girls that could save her if needed! I love the water and am so glad my mom sent us to classes. With my various illnesses, I find comfort in water through warm jetted bathes and swimming pool exercises.
@hazel Yes, summers are awful. Not as humid, but can be days of 100 or above in the summer. I've been here 37 years, so you'd think I'd be used to it, but I'm not! I really, really miss the fall! We really don't have much of a fall here. Some day I'm going to take the train through New England during the fall and enjoy the beautiful leaves!
@jim Yes, when taking any psychiatric type drug, one should be monitored at the start. I, also, never had suicidal thoughts until I was given the Clonazepam. I actually attempted suicide and ended up in a psych ward. I don't even remember the event. Apparently, I went to the store and purchased two Tylenol P.M bottles and a box of Fruit Loops (yep, apparently I picked up some Fruit Loops - maybe I was trying to tell someone I was feeling "loopy" - who knows, but it was such a surprise to me when I was told how they found me), then went through a drive through and purchased two large colas and drove out to the country where I was boarding my horse. A police officer just happened to see my car in a field with the engine running. He called for an ambulance. Next thing I remember was waking up in a bed in the psych ward! Once the medication wore off, I was fine. It is weird how medication can affect a person one way and another person another way!
