Pancreatic Cancer & lithotripsy to remove a kidney stone
I’m a 62 yr old woman with PanCan with Mets to liver, lung lymph nodes. Now they’ve found a huge 14x9 kidney stone and want to do lithotripsy. I also have a pain pump installed in abdomen. Has anyone needed this procedure done at stage4? If so who was your urologist?

Hi @scalettasandy, I wonder if @skiball or @julie23 may have experiences to share about kidney stones and pancreatic cancer.
I suspect you've had the kidney stone removed by now, have you? How did the procedure go? How are you doing?
I still have the stones. I just couldn’t decide I should put my skin & bones body through that kind of abuse with probably just a few months left to live & on top of it both urologists telling me they can’t guarantee that’s what’s causing the pain and because it’s so large only 80% chance of getting it all, just makes the decision so hard.
I decided to go through with getting the stone blasted. Bad things are you’re only allowed by fda so many blasts so he’s about 80% sure he can get the large one broken up with what’s allowed. There’s still 2 more smaller stones in there with it but won’t be able to address those. With such a short life left to live, he doesn’t think they’ll move down or get big enough to cause future problems.
I dread going under anesthesia in my depleted and weak condition! Keep your fingers crossed!
Please post a followup of your treatment please, as I have Pancan 4 that symptoms are identical to yours. thank you.
I had 3 different consults and they all said about the same things.
Too far gone to do any surgery. 3different options.
1. Do nothing and go on hospice
2 I think it was called 5FU
3. Gem/Abrax
Turned out I was allergic to flufirinox, or how ever you spell it so just doing option 2 . I now cannot tolerate almost any food. I’ve gone from 169 to 120 since April.
Dr just informed I’ll have to go on hospice if I keep losing weight.
@helovector, how are you doing?
