Sorry for your pain. Similarly, I experience pain throughout the region including rectal, coccygeal and buttocks. There seem to be multiple causes. Removal of a polyp discovered during a colonoscopy helped a bit, but nerve damage seems probable, either the result of a fall or radiation prostate treatment. My Pain Management physician suggests “Hypogastric Plexus Block procedure.” Best Wishes

I have pelvic pain including the rectal area, penis, spincters and perinium area. I believe it is ultra sensitivity of the pudendal nerve. I am going to pain management and they do pudendal nerve blocks. What is the difference between the pudendal nerve block and the hypogastric plexus block. My block that is recommended is for a similar area. I guess yours is geared towards the gastric system?
