I am 79 years old, Lithium (300mg night + 300mg morning) has worked for me since 1988 (35) years,

I am 79 years old (male) in 1988 I was put on Lithium (300mg night & morning).
Approximately 8 years ago I was put on Buprpopion XL 300 morning (Wellabrutin), plus Quetiapine XR 50mg + 25mg, for sleep. From my research I have found that Lithium is very often given for Bipolar. From recent reading I find that Omega 3 is very helpful (Dr. Aimen book Fix your Brain - Change your Life), which I have been taking for approximately 1 year. Hope this helps with your discussion with your doctor.
Dr. Aimen books are very informative and a great help in understanding Bipolar. Hope this helps.

Hello @mbrumpton1945 and welcome to Mayo Connect. It sounds as if you have found a good combination of medications to assist with bipolar disorder. I would like to invite you to join the Bipolar support group on Connect. Here is a link to that group, https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/bipolar-forum/.
It is a good place to share your journey with medications and other treatments.

The other members of that group would be pleased to meet you and learn about your journey with bipolar. Will you post again in that group?
