I was on the Cymbalta for 2 months. I did not have trouble coming off of it, some trouble on it. I was on the Lyrica for 8 months.
I am currently on a low dose of Cymbalta, 30mg for 4 months. My doctor wants to raise it to the 60 mg. I am not on Lyrica. I wanted to try to fix the nerve pain but am headed towards medication as well. The pain levels get way beyond my tolerance at times. I am going to the pain management group.

Sorry for your pain. Similarly, I experience pain throughout the region including rectal, coccygeal and buttocks. There seem to be multiple causes. Removal of a polyp discovered during a colonoscopy helped a bit, but nerve damage seems probable, either the result of a fall or radiation prostate treatment. My Pain Management physician suggests “Hypogastric Plexus Block procedure.” Best Wishes

I have been on Lyrica since it first came out about 17 years ago. I am not sure about the date. I have had chronic or recurring back pain for 40 years then developed body wide pain about 1999 . I was diagnosed with Fibro then. Lyrica takes the edge off my pain and Cymbalta helps with the depression that comes to most of us, when dealing with severe pain. I have never had any of the bad/outrageous problems people report about these meds. Give them a try, if you are in severe pain. They might give you a better life.
