Rheumatoid Arthritis or Transplant Medication causing aches and pains

Posted by nrbecerril @nrbecerril, Oct 20, 2023

Hi. I had RA since 2016? I was on Orencia and Methylprednisone. I had a liver transplant in Feb. 2023. Since then I been very weird.. my rheumatologist says he thinks it's no longer RA and its my transplant meds causing pain. I stopped the steroids and the Orencia but now I'm always achy. Does anyone experience anything like this? I would love the input. Please and Thank you. 😀

I've talked with them about it and they just told me to go to a joint specialist and gave a knee joint specialist referral. I went and had xray sets and everything looked quite normal, but I suspect whatever is causing won't show on xrays. I told xplant team I thought cyclosporine primarily or maybe prednisone might be causing and they side "no one had ever mentioned those side effects on cyclosporine" or prednisone and were dismissive about it, which I didn't really appreciate. tried stopping januvia for a little, but didn't help. I think I might need to get like a knee to foot MRI at an advanced bone and joint location, but not sure if another test might help. they checked uric acid for gout, and I don't really think it's just neuropathy per podiatrist, and or plantor. Need better diagnosis by an ortopedic specialist I think.

For what it’s worth, my rheumatologist suspects that gout in my 40’s was likely my first RA appearance. These days there’s no question it’s RA
