Chronic Nausea: What solutions have you found?
I am new to this group. I have chronic nausea without any further diagnosis as to cause. More recently, the nausea is harder to control and I have developed
difficulty swallowing. I was turned down by Mayo Clinic when I self-referred. My question is: Has any member(s) in the group been evaluated by Mayo for the same or similar problems? If so, what was your outcome?
Any and all responses are welcomed and very much appreciated.

When the persistent nausea appeared I also had several GI symptoms GERD, severe pain after eating, feeling full fast etc.
The cause for most was a blocked celiac artery that supplies blood to many abdominal organs. I had surgery for this- MALS- 2015 and a stent placed. The stent now was blocked and I received a new stent. Most of GI symptoms disappeared, except for the nausea and feeling full.
I also recently got a new aortic valve which also increased the blood flow to GI. There was a small improvement in nausea and feeling full.
Now I will soon have a gastric emptying test.
I’m so glad you have a great team looking after you! What we experience with our bodies on a day to day quality of life is so important and having these amazing people working with us makes so much difference in how we cope. 👍👍
Have you had a gastric emptying study to rule out gastroparesis. Most people with it vomit frequently. I have a severe case, but don’t ever vomit. Just have lots of nausea. I use Phenergan and the patches that go behind the ear. Ondansetron doesn’t help much in my case.
