Supplements - Any lower PSA for you?
Anyone trying to lower their PSA with the following supplements? What dosage and how often?
DHA fish or algae (scitechdaily)
Lipsomal Artemisinin for ferotosis - binds with iron to kill cancer cells. Iron feeds cancer agressively.
Nano curcumin
Nano ginger
Ursolic acid
Luteolin
Capsacin from cayenne peppers
Saffron
Astaxanthin
Agaricus bisporous mushroom
Turkey tail mushroom
green tea extract
Ceylon cinnamon

I wanted to add to my post about supplements and prostrate cancer. When I started radiation treatments at UFPTI I was asked to drink cranberry juice as would help reduce occurrences of urinary tract infections. I could not stand the taste of straight cranberry juice and asked if could take supplement instead. I was told yes and was a common requests from patients.
Even though I have finished the treatments I continue to take the cranberry supplement.
Yes, PC. Radiation back in the Spring. NO chemo. PSA from 5.7, now, .02.
Really unsure on any benefit from Saw Palmetto. Two Flomax nightly.
Sure would like to pee less--:) Several UTIs this year.
Low does naltrexone(LDN) helps to reduce PSA. My PSA was reduced prior to my proton radiation treatments.

Going total vegan may reduce the nutrients available, so slows down the cancer cell growth. Vit D is proven to improve suvival. Not sure about anything else. The problem is there are so many studies coming out. For a long time, they say tofu and soy bean is good. Then some wise guy says his study proves that tpfu and/or soy products puts men at higher risk. And so with fish, omega 3, etc., etc. You might as well play Russian roulette.

Exactly! My philosophy is simple: start with fresh ingredients and try to follow our grandmothers' rule of filling ½ of our plates with vegetables, ¼ with (higher-)protein, and ¼ with (higher-)carb.
I figure that will work at least as well as chasing the latest fad diet that's based on a small, non-repeatable study (with its findings exaggerated in the media).

did your radiation oncologist prescribe the LDN. Did you experience any side effects with LDN. How was the proton treatment? Where did you have the proton? Thanks.
