Metabolic Activity on Pet/CT scan. Inflammation vs Malignancy

I wanted to find out if anyone 6 -8 months out from treatment received a NED ( No Evidence of Disease) on their follow up PET or CT scans? If not, how long until they got one? I'm on my 2nd scan post treatment for Hypopharynx HPV- stage 3 and both scans show an area of concern showing metabolic activity. The Medical team says it could just be inflammation. When I ask what's the norm, no one seems to know. If it wasn't my life on the line, I'd be cool with their answer but..... Does anybody have any insight? Thank you.

Congratulations @ Geoffrey! This is awesome news. You are definitely in good hands. My MRI was not as clean as yours but I was told the "focal enhancement" was shrinking and was not masslike. Most likely just post treatment changes. So I'm getting another MRI in 2 mos. Thank you for your upbeat good news. Gives me hope my tumor is just clearing up. Best of health to us all!
