Hi @fcancer07 My goodness, you sure have a list of some serious symptoms which definitely need attention and a diagnosis. I noticed you posted in the pancreatic cancer group. Have you previously been diagnosed with this or is this a suspicion on your part?
I hope you don’t mind my asking but will your appointment next week be the first time you’ve seen a doctor since all these symptoms started?
I do and on top going through a little depression. Just ended relationship of 10 years, totally unrelated to this. I was actually the one who ended it, so i have kinda a f it moment at times.
And yes this would be my first visit
I think it’s pretty understandable that you’re having a few of those ‘moments’! A breakup with someone who’s been in your life for 10 years is traumatic, no matter who initiated it. There’s a normal grieving time for the changes you’re having to deal with. Along with that, you have this sizable list of symptoms and you feel like crud! So, I’d say trying to be all perky with that going on is rough.
This week is your doctor’s appointment. I’m really relieved that you’re going and I think you are too, right? It’s time to get some of these symptoms checked out.
If I may make a suggestion, make a copy of the list of symptoms you wrote in your first discussion posted here. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/help-my-list-of-symptoms/
That way you won’t forget any of the key details when talking with your doctor. And also, if you have anything else you want to ask or talk about, it’s much easier to put them down on paper or in the memo area of your phone. I know my doctor appreciates when I can read right down my list. It helps to be organized when time is limited with doctor’s appointments.
I hope everything goes well for you and that you get some answers. Will you please let me know what you found out?
I was reading your post and thought "Gee that sounds way familiar.. years ago back when I was 19 years old I started having pretty much all the same things that you have going on. it got so bad that I could not even drink water without severe pain and it would go straight through me. I lost a lot of weight and got to the point where I was constantly bleeding when I would use the bathroom and just got really bad until I finally went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. maybe it's something you should think about being tested for also if you still aren't sure what's going on.
