@joan7

John, let me know how you do with the Kevzara injections, and if it helps. I thought it came in pill form. My doctors keep leaving these minor details out of our conversations. So far, I heard several people being very happy with how Kevzara is controlling their PMR.

I have not experienced any issues with the flu shot, however, I was told not to get any vaccines until I'm under 20 mg on the Prednisone because they won't take. Just started on 15 mgs this past Thursday, and Sed Rate is going up (at 32 with 20 mgss). I do plan to get flu shot for the winter. I will definitely not get any Covid Boosters; became really sick from the Covid vaccines.

Good luck with everything!

joan7; couple of more things about Kevzara. It is an injector pen like an EpiPen. Administered every other week preferably on the same day and around the same time. Stored in the refrigerator until needed and each monthly supply is 2 pens. Check out the Drugs.com web site. There is an article Kevzara: 7 things you should know. Written on March 20 of this year, right after it was approved for PMR. Lays out upsides and downsides. My first injection is Tuesday at his office. Wants to observe for any reactions or side effects.
Regards; John

Hi Joan; got my first injection of Kevzara this morning. A piece of cake. An hour later no reaction at all so all good. I will self-administer the next injection in 2 weeks from today. The injection was painless about four or five inches from the navel but on that line. When you press the pen against the skin the pen activates, no plunger to press. Plan is to go to 10 of prednisone next week as the Kevzara begins to take effect hopefully and continue to reduce prednisone until I am off it entirely, fingers crossed.
