It seems from the reactions I am reading (above and beyond) that a PMR flare can be triggered by various vaccines or in my case, COVID itself, or maybe even any virus. The question I have is, “ Why do our immune systems continue to overreact when there is an immune response?” I will also add, I went up from 4 mg to 10 mg of prednisone (my rheumatologist suggested for a week) for about 10 days with an amazing improvement, then down to 7.5, (10 days) and will start on 5 tomorrow. I am nursing a fairly bad cold so worry I will have another flare, and I also worry about my schedule of shots this fall. I guess the worst that can happen is I will have to increase my prednisone when, like everyone on this chat, I want to be off it. However, I do view prednisone as an ally on the road to recovery.

I share your concerns even though
I may be a conservative pro vaxxer.
Had my flu shot 2 weeks ago.
I chose regular vaccine instead of
recommended senior formulation.
Considering new Pfizer Covid in November.
I do not suggest multiple vaccines at once.
I would rather know what caused any reaction
that might occur.
