well I finished evenity 2 weeks ago with very minor side affects. Headache, tiredness and a bit achy for a day or so. Bone density and VFA is tomorrow to see what I did with my -3.0–3.3 spine and hip. I do have 4 different fractures in my past. 2 ribs and each wrist from rather forceful sports injuries over the last 10 years! I’m 67 and worried more about prolia!! I guess my choices are aledronate, reclast or prolia. I’m in it for the long haul so I wonder how that figures in for these choices. Please anyone with suggestions do not hesitate to weigh in. You ALL have been so incredibly helpful and no am very grateful. Cindy

Hi Cindy, I am also a Retired RN and am glad you were able to complete your 12 month journey with Evenity. I had to stop after 5 months due to increasing side effects and palpitations. My MD was not at all concerned about all the side effects I had and was just interested in taking my co-payment and billing the Insurance Company for the medication. I choose Alendronate after switching MD's and I am also taking an Estrogen patch low dose. It is a difficult decision to make with what to follow Evenity with. I was scared of Prolia and the huge amount of medication given for Reclast ( to last an entire year). I hope you have good results with your Bone Density test tomorrow. I encourage you to read the book " Great Bones" by R Keith McCormick it is an excellent resource for everyone dealing with OP.

Thinking of you and hope your scan showed improvement after your Evenity! I am so scared to try aledronate due to my severe TMJ. xoxo

Please let us know what improvements have happened with your testing.
One thing for sure is I would never take Prolia.

I have been on Prolia for about 8 years. I'm 71 and I've had very little side effects. I also exercise moderately and walk about 5 days a week for about 35 to 40 minutes each time. I do have low body weight and I'm struggling to gain weight. That's my story so far.

I stoped zebenityafter 11 mos due to debilitating aches and pains. Tried Fosomax but that brought on aching and pain again. Had great results in spine with Evenity not much in other two DEXA sites. Just switched to Actonel. Will see how that goes!
