My husband couldn't use the lactulose either. For some reason enulose, same active ingredients worked. He would mix it with a little water and lemon juice. It was still a difficult situation and I could tell when he needed more. It was a very scary time.
He received a transplant at the Mayo Phoenix last January. It has not been completely smooth sailing but we are grateful for every day and the support we continue to receive from them.
