Low cortisol yet only saliva test done: What to do next?
Starting last year, low cortisol 0.69. Now after 6 tests, 11.00. Endo is doing nothing just telemed. Pcp is doing the same. Shaky, weak high and low Bp. Cardio has me on Dilitizem 120ER. Saw interventional doc, did saliva test. Peak at 3 pm and 10 pm. Could not handle the DHEA spray or adrenal pill. Taking ashwagandha and it went up. In pain from bad knee replacement 2 .5 years ago, not a revision candidate. Went through 6 cardio’s have tachycardia. First test was 200 bpm, 2 mins at a time 11 events in 8 days. That’s when the heart med came in. Still shaky, weak pounding heart. No help. New cardio and intervention med doc stated it’s from the pain. But even on pain meds, low dose of 7 mg per day not 20, still having floating feeling, shaky and weak. Getting another monitor next week from new cardio as the others stated it’s the pain meds!!!! Had this before the med! Lost here. Could be POTS. Anyone go this long and have cortisol levels like this and have Bp, tach? Frustrated. In Florida, Gods waiting room. Thank you.

@taftst1 You’ve had these low cortisol levels for about 1 year? Have you been able to discuss this, in person, with your PCP? At this point, I would suggest putting a message through the portal and asking about the cortisol levels. Better yet, make an appointment just to discuss the cortisol levels.

1 ReactionYes, pcp, endo all know. Years worth of AM cortisol tests but now coming in at 11??’ 7 telemed with Endo one appt face to face. “Oh Susan you don’t have Addison’s. You be extremely skinny, nice shape for women your AGE”!! Not many endo in area.

They almost killed hubby 5 times. Once I had him diagnosed via pics from my phone to Indiana University. He had Guillain Barre! Was paralyzed!

1 ReactionAgree. The one in Fl is not that good. But, you have to see if they will take you. A friend took his wife there and she was bleeding and had to go through hoops to get in there. No one here in Florida can figure it out but it cost him $30,000 and he was up there two times so that equals 60 grand and he had insurance, but she’s doing OK. They saved her life, so I think they take the dire cases
They are permitted to use the Mayo name. But they really are not the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
