Osteoporosis treatment
My osteoporosis has gotten out of hand. In February 2022, I suffered five compression fractures (L1-L-5) and in November, three more (T-10- T-12). Each time I spent 10 to 12 weeks in excruciating pain.
My endocrinologist has suggested starting me on Tymlos for 2 years, and then moving on to Prolia. Has anybody used this medication (Tymlos)? How was your experience?

The time period was 2years for the drop. I am on my third injection of Evenity and I feel fine. The only thing that I noticed was being tired off / on. No other issues.
Here’s a link to some information about the Alkaline Diet, if you’re wondering what it is. This info comes from a nationally recognized comprehensive cancer center, so it is focused on cancer patients considering the Alkaline Diet.

Hi. I’d be worried about a -3.8 spine score. I’m 65 and have a -3.1 score in my lumbar spine. I feel it necessary to take drugs to strengthen my bones in case I fall or twist the wrong way suddenly. Im not an expert, but from what I’ve read on this site since joining about two months ago, is that exercise and diet may help stabilize but you can’t count on an improvement
Thank you. I have a lot to think about here.
I am curious to know why he recommended Tymlos over Forteo. Thank you
I have always wanted to know when stopping a drug how long it took to lose the gains. I may have to do this till next open enrollment when I'm finished with evenity next April. I wonder if anyone else knows what the time is.
It all depends on what drug you are taking. You usually need to use an Antiresorptive after any of PTH analogs. If not you can have a rebound and not only lose bone and have a risk for fracture.
Thanks for replying. I'm on Evenity.
So am I and I have read that we will need to go on a med after to maintain gains.
I’m on Evenity and have been told that I’ll have to take Fosamax after. I’m more afraid of Fosamax than Evenity.
