Hi @welcome, in addition to @mtn_lvr's helpful post, I'm tagging fellow members like @karukgirl on this question. Have you spoken with a cardio social worker at Mayo Clinic? You might also consider contacting Mayo's Concierge Services:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/minnesota/concierge-services
By phone 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday: 507-538-8438
Email: concierge@mayo.edu

When will you have your surgery?

Surgery date is a December 7th

Hello @welcome, and WELCOME! You've come to the right place to find all sorts of information about Mayo Clinic and @colleenyoung gave you a great start. I am not aware of any Mayo affiliated place that has medical supervision as a discharged patient, so hopefully Mayo Concierge can assist you with that. I had open heart surgery in Rochester and elected to stay for an additional four days just to be sure. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, directly across from the main entrance to St. Mary's and honestly, it could not have been better. I felt nervous leaving after surgery because I was so weak and anemic. But in retrospect, I think I would have been fine to fly home to California the day after discharge because I had my partner with me. He handled everything and I just had to walk here, sit there, and get in and out of the car or shuttle. Will you have help with you? That's super important to have support along side you to make it easier for you...
