Good compression sports bra suggestion

Posted by taprep @taprep, Oct 7, 2023

Hi, Can anyone suggest a good compression sports bra to wear after surgery? Bought few front open (1 zip and 1 with hooks) but it’s zip one is not that easy to put on. I will be provided some binder to wear immediately after surgery but I also want an extra one.

I bought compression bras that hook in front from Marena. Pricey, but they work well. I’m still using them, 9 months after my lumpectomy and oncoplastic surgery. I also use a variation of a swell spot, called Mobiderm. I didn’t have drains. I also bought a couple of sports bras from Coobie, very inexpensive and work well. The only thing to be concerned about with some sports bras is that they, like mine, are pull-over (or step in), and that is not convenient in the beginning of recovery.

I got a front zip one from Duluth Trading that I like. It was not easy to find one I like.

Another point about hooking bras vs. zippered ones: the hook-ups are very adjustable which is very useful as you heal and lose the swelling, and also no longer need to stuff gauze over your incisions. Also You can make it tighter for more compression, if needed. I don’t necessarily use the same row of hooks all the way—I can sort of customize the fit that way.

I had my surgical bra on when I woke up from surgery. Wore it for a few weeks because it had the wholes and was able to hook my drains to it for the shower.

Excellent! I had Dale bra after surgery. Easy come off. It was my 2nd surgery with the effects.

Yes, I ordered directly from Prairie Wear site, and ordered the compression "swell spots" from http://www.compressionguru.com. The swell spots are made by Solaris in all sorts of shapes and sizes that you can wear inside your bra or tucked into the compression pockets if your bra has those. I used the swell spots for a few weeks and then stopped when the area on my surgical breast was no longer hard.

@a4anu1992 welcome to connect and thank you for sharing. I did attempt to go look for this bra and could not find it. When I searched DCYPHR the makeup foundation company is all I could find.
Could you share more information about this?
