I do tai chi with a group. It is wonderful. The teacher modifies the movements for people with balance or mobility problems. One woman has had a stroke and has to use a chair for stability at times. One woman has Parkinson’s and does somethings sitting down.
The teacher also demonstrates the movements with bigger or smaller movements. It is wonderful and you should try it.

Yes, I have been doing Tai Chi with 2 different groups- one group concentrates on learning the traditional "forms",
I'm not so interested in this group- requires balance beyond my ability. The people are lovely, but I will finish up with this group soon. With the other group I only stay for the half hour that does the traditional routines that are gentle, rhythmic and even meditative (and I can do them on Youtube). I love that group. I also just started another on YouTube , only 20 minutes, specifically designed to retrain proprioceptors, this I highly recommend- it's by Doug Weiss 10 best exercises for Balance in Seniors- Levels 1, 2 and 3 available. Really easy to do at home.
Also, I have just has orthotics prescribed and I find they are a significant help. The other helpful advice was to use whatever aid you like, because it's the keeping active that is important- if you walk more using a walker, then use the walker! Good luck,

1 ReactionI love tai chi.....was lucky to have done it quite awhile ago...it is beautiful movement and feels like dancing. I am trying to work movements into my morning routine as a way to start the day in a peaceful positive way. I am hoping it will help with the painful Charley horses I sometimes get when waking up and other odd times.

1 ReactionA drink of water really helps...that's very true...I actually keep a small bottle of water in bed for that very reason. Thanks
Yoga has several different methods. You might have your physical therapist for which method would be best for you.
