lower left abdominal pain
Alright, I don't even know how to start this since this pain has been going on for so long. I've started to give this pain so much attention that everytime I start running, I feel like i'm dieing.
I'm a 17 year old male, good shape, that doesn't exercise that much overall. I'm 5'7 120 lbs.
The pain starts one minute into any cardio exercise that includes jumping or bouncing (such as RUNNING, or jumping jacks) The pain feels like someone stabbed me with a foreign object in the lower left abdominal section, to the right of my left hipbone
I would like to say that i'm constipated aswell. (been 3 months ish)
When I go swimming, this pain doesn't occure as much
It's mostly on the left side, almost never on the right side.
Pain feels like organs bouncing up and down, causing the pain, im starting to lose hope, really.
I went to see doctors, but they said I have nothing, so i'm LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM!
thank you, happy new year 🙂

Sometimes finding a diagnosis can be a long journey. Have you been given anything to help relieve the constipation or tests to find the underlying cause?

I hope the doctors can help you find something. Have you had the pain while at an appointment or does it only happen with physical exercise?
hey, sorry for the late reply. I already got my appendix removed 2 years ago.

pain was always in the lower left part of my abdomen, but in the past it happended even after a meal. Now it only happens if I walk or run or jump.

ive realised that pain doesnt occure when my stomach is empty
Do you think it could be a digestive related issue? Have you at least been given anything to help relieve the constipation or tests to find the underlying cause?
Find a good Gastroenterologist and see if they can run tests on your GI tract. Also get your gall bladder checked out. In addition, make sure you don't have something that is happening as a result of the appendectomy such as scar tissue or a blockage. Find a good GI doc. So sorry you have all this pain.
Hi, I'm not sure if you'll see this because it looks like this was posted a while ago but I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! If you see this I would love to get in contact! It started probably 7 years ago for me, I'm in my 20s now and still no progress. I've noticed sometimes compression helps? But I've gotten so many tests done and no real answers or solutions. So frustrating! I haven't found anyone else with this problem and your description matches everything exactly
Hello @penny10, welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect and sorry to hear about your pain. You are right that this is an older discussion, but let's see if we can find you a more recent discussion. If you are comfortable sharing, what sort of tests have you had done that unfortunately didn't turn up any diagnosis for you? Like @JakobMariok, is yours worse with movement like running or jumping? Do you also experience issues when you eat?
Also try a Regenerative Medicine Dr. Ligaments have been lost in the advances that medicine has made but a "lax" ligament caused me terrible pain and even was the cause of a subluxed, or not quite totally dislocated, leg.
Stretched out ligaments can't do the job of holding joints in place, espcecially with those of us whose joint can become hypermiobile.
I think maybe it's worse on a full stomach but I haven't been able to put together a solid connection/pattern.
Mine also is worse with jostling/twisting (primarily running). I have had x-rays, ultrasound, oral endoscopy, and CT scan with contrast. I've worked with a PT and sports doctor.
I'll check that out, thanks! Sorry to hear about your pain.
Sometimes I have a similar problem.
It seems to occur where the small & large intestine meet.
Try over the counter TUMS, & lay down & massage your stomach-abdomen area.
Try gastro doc or urologist for an x-ray, cat scan, or whatever they recommend.
