C. difficile And diverticulosis
Guys. I am 32 and stressed out.
I started with diverticulitis and the doctors now think I have C. difficile. I have lost over 20 pounds on this journey of not eating really since January. Can someone please shed some light on how u were feeling with cdiff other than the bowel what else did u experience.

Also, when you see your Doctor ask him about a Micobiota based drug called VOWST that was recently released to help with the prevention of a reoccurance of C.Dif
Had green poop! Saw 5 Gastro’s did nothing. Upper GI did scope insure as heck was not allowing a colonoscopy in an area where green is coming out. Sure was not from salads and it was formed. Fast forward 11 months, my dog passed, her diarrhea was the most stinky poop from a dog you ever smelled! She passed on. One night , cramped and I had pale diarrhea. Next morning same thing. So off to ER. Was on the day for ultrasound. Nurse swabbed me, came back from echo, whispered in ear cdiff!!! I knew how I got it!!! At the hospital. Friend was in, got it, did not tell me, nor was the room marked. Had Vanco, relapsed as most do, more Vanco, relapsed, more Vanco. In short I only had loose stool once each time with cramps. Once was glear gel. Yuk. So had it 4 times positive but not going 10-12 times a day like usual. Then AGAIN cramps, loose. Took sample in, cdiff. I demanded Dificid. Ins paid, at that time 6000.00. Relapse!!! Dificid again. Then Infectious med got involved. Finally huh? We all can test positive!!! It’s everywhere! Not just hospitals! He felt it was ibs plus now gut ruined by Vanco. Been ok for almost 4 years. Take every morning a cup of kefir, and a banana. It’s stupid that they allow vanco. It should be Dificid. Gastro just retired. Yes gut messed up, he said WE SCREWED you up, the ones in scrubs! Will take years to heal. No colonoscopy yet, clean that all out, being a carrier as most are, asking for trouble. Do stool test and go on. The amount of Vanco I had, any polyp would be burned off. I have to agreed. I have NO faith in docs! None. In the ER some male came up to me, here take this pill. Be on it for life. No badge, no scrubs. It was Dicyclomine. 4 pills a day! I am still taking DUST , yes DUST like a junkie at meals or I shake. Get swabbed! Get infectious med involved not GI and go from there. Sorry for long story but this hospital and docs ruined me!! Ruined!!!
This is how I feel. They are faking me and they want me to keep taking vanco and it’s killing my insides now I have acid reflux so bad I can’t stop being nausea with everything I eat Nothing is working
Find a OLD gastro. Ones who been around a LONG time. Mine spent 30 mins with each patient! Not a butt hole doc. He could care less about money, it was your health!!! Remember, OLD. Look up to see if any med mal suits against him or her. Has good reviews. Remember old!!!!
Ok. I’m looking now. Because this is tooo much and now I’m not eating I don’t even know if I still have c diff and they want me to keep taking the meds. It’s tooo much
Could call ins co. They have you on a med that is not helping plus have proof of the test. They may be able to call doc for more info.
Ok. Imma see. Because this isn’t ok. I’m so stressed out. And worried
What is c-diff?
It stands for Clostridium Difficile. It's a very contagious germ bacteria that causes extreme diarrhea and colitis. It's very common in hospitals where a lot of antibiotics are used. You can also get it from taking a lot of antibiotics as I did. You have to have the stool tested and usually put on Vancomycin which is the antibiotic that treats it. It can be very stubborn.
Yes. That’s what i have been on. And now I think I have caught something else by being on all that stuff for so long. It’s just one thing bringing on something else.
