Chemo for esophagus cancer: Any advice on things I should or not do?
I was recently diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the esophagus with her2 “positive”. I’ve been on one chemo pill and one infusion. The pills gave me ulcers in my colon along with every other side effect and I ended up in the ICU for 2 nights- 7 night hospital stay. Since then they haven’t started me on the chemo pills again (they said I need a break to heal) so I’m only on the infusion. My follow up pet scan is wed and I’m scared that only being on the one infusion just wasn’t enough. I’m trying to stay positive. Anyone have any advice as far as extra supplements or things I should or shouldn’t do. As of now I’m walking, take curcumin, vit d, acupuncture, cbd oil, that’s really it. Any positive info would be appreciated.

Me too I will be praying for you God is more than enough to get us thru
Did you have the pet scan result?
What stage are you ?
The infusion could be enough - ask your doctor about immunotherapy !
Keep us informed!
Music to relax - and less sugar if possible
@naomicanada, I believe your questions were directed to Don, I'm tagging him to make sure he sees your post. @dsh33782
How are you doing, Don?
I am 5 days into chem (2 hours and then 3 days on fanny pack). Very tired and taking zofran for nausia.
Where did you go for the robotic surgery? The surgeons I have talked to do robotic for the stomach, open for the esophagus. I am just finishing up chemoradiation and will know results after a PET scan on Dec 14.
Something I found interesting since you asked about things that might help.

I have been inhaling Molecular Hydrogen at various periods of time since 2016. I will go into detail at a later time. I have several appointments today that are limiting the amount of available time I have today. I strongly urge everyone reading the previous post to do their research. Study each or the links, and make an informed decision. I am an extremely vocal proponent of Molecular Hydrogen, especially what it has done for me. I will post again with my story as soon as I have enough time. I am 85 years young, and quite honestly can not type nearly as fast as I once could.
God Bless

I haven't read much on this... just stuff like this:
Inhaling molecular hydrogen may improve the quality of life and control cancer progression for patients with advanced cancer. In vitro studies have shown that hydrogen treatment can inhibit cancer cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and colony formation. Hydrogen therapy may also improve liver function in patients receiving chemotherapy.

Hydrogen therapy may also reduce side effects for patients receiving radiation therapy. It may also protect against radiation-induced bone marrow damage.
Hydrogen therapy may also reduce inflammatory responses associated with ventilator-induced lung injury. In a study of allergic asthmatic mice, hydrogen gas inhalation improved lung function and protected against airway inflammation.
Hydrogen therapy may also have no common adverse reactions such as nose bleeding, chest pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, earache, or skin allergy.
So... where do you fit in with your use of this hydrogen therapy ... in terms of other treatments (combinations)?
Very curious. And, are you stage 4 and have already exhausted all other treatments?

I especially suggest getting your hands on the book by Dr. Junji Akagi called “Hydrogen Immunotherapy Makes Cancer Disappear: Advice from a Japanese Authority on Immuno-Oncology about how to Enhance Your Immunity Swiftly and Build a Robust Body.”
There’s also some very interesting podcasts, but aside from the studies, I like to take everything with a grain of salt.
Side-point: A part of the book I found most insightful is the doctor’s recommendation that “the standard of care” (by Japanese standards, anyhow) is not the right approach for advanced cancer patients. He recommends low-dose antineoplastic drugs so that the immune system is preserved to extend the lifespan as long as possible. To be honest, this grabbed my attention so fully that I haven’t read the parts of the book about H2 yet (but I have read some of this doctor’s academic studies on that).
But gee, that’s a whole other can of worms.
