It is hard for a non-clinician to interpret radiology reports. And seeing it is your 1st mammogram, they do not have previous images to compare to. There is not much info about a lump and they are recommending an ultrasound to further evaluate lump you felt. The ultrasound gives radiologist better images of certain spot.

Hopefully you will get appt soon so can get results soon. Based on those results, you can have discussion with your provider if additional tests needed (breast and ovaries) and your risk based on BRCA mutation.

Thanks Laurie. I’m so scared after what my sis went through- we both tested + for same BRCA mutation, which increased my ovarian cancer odds to 1 in 3…thus getting my tubes and ovaries removed. I haven’t told my husband or my mom; I’m waiting until I have definite results. I don’t want to scare them for nothing…it’s been a rough go!!
