Red Plaque Spots 1 mo after having COVID 2/23

Posted by melatonin @melatonin, Sep 16, 2023

I was just doing some research to see if anyone has reported my symptoms I’ve never had anything like this before so I will blame it on Covid since it came 4 weeks after I had Covid. and I had no problem with the Pfizer two-part vaccine in 4/21. It is non-itchy, but looks bad and starting to take over my body. My MD prescribed some cream but didn’t know what it was. I went to the dermatologist she did a biopsy.. All good except there’s no answer as to what it is I’m supposed to use this cream and It could take months.

I have all sorts of new spots and blots on my body. Also weird dark purple bruising I never had before. When I mention to doctors they just think it's aging skin, as they have on reference for how it looked before I went into this nightmare. No, not normal aging.

Yes, the dermatologist did biopsy on a few spots. All negative.
The same story on all my testing. Tests say I’m FINE, but I’m very sick.

Did you have full blood work performed? Your skin eruptions are not normal skin changes. I think you should know what your prescription is and why you were prescribed it. Obviously you are being treated for *something.* The answer to your question will start to be revealed by understanding your prescription. My guess is that it's an anti- inflammatory skin product but I'm just guessing. I'm glad you're not having itching or peeling or other similarly troublesome symptoms. But only a doctor or Advanced Practice licensed professional can diagnose what you have. I hope you're using your prescription as directed. Hope you have a good resolution.

I had a similar rash, however not as bad. I discovered that being out on the sun without being totally covered caused mine. Mine was on my head....itchy welts on the top of head (by the way, I have a head full of long hair). Then the itchy red welts came up all over my arms. These were the only exposed skin areas. Now, the welts have gone down, however my arms have unusual light red blotches. I also suffer from Covid Toes...toes on both feet are bright red to purple. Also suffer from thick phlegm in the throat, and also I am now loosing my hair. I first had the Johnson and Johnson shot, and Mederna the second time..... I forgot to mention that after both shots, I got a horrible case of Covid....lost my taste and smell, don’t remember anything during those 10 days. Wonder if it is the shots or the illness that is causing all of these weird symptoms.

Because it didnt bother me ie. Itch I waited a couple months to even have looked at. Then saw dermatologist a couple months later! Nothing was wrong with biopsy. Because we have had such an extremely hot summer here in TX I have not used prescribed cream. I would just sweat it off anyway. I really would like an honest diagnosis! May get a second opinion from another dermatologist!

I didn’t have any problems with the shots. I only had the initial Pfizer 2 shot vax in 21. It was only after I got Covid Christmas Eve 22 through the next couple weeks then these spots started appearing in February.. Because they didn’t answer and they didn’t really bother me and they started out small. I didn’t go to the doctor until April or May even and then I went to the dermatologist and had a biopsy. It’s really hard for me to believe that my MD and the dermatologist both were clueless! I really thought it was a common thing! But since they don’t have a true diagnosis by, I have to believe it’s Covid related the spots have increased! I got in my doctor in November for my physical and we’ll talk about it then I guess

I think yours were from the shots. I didn’t have any problem with that shot or actually even having Covid. It was a month later that I’ve developed these plaque spots.

Hi to all. Looking at pics and descriptions here that seem to fit my situation of post covid reactions since dec 2021. Seen many different specialists and functional medicine explanation of small vessel vasculitis that affects skin matches me. Think doctors are just now seeing enough of our cases to connect dots of vessel damage affecting lungs and other organ tissue also creating myriad of skin reactions. Hope helpful with healing! 🌈
