Thoughts with you all
My sister passed in March from PC.
We delayed our trip to Amsterdam, river cruise to Switzerland for 18 months.
We brought her with us and she will always be a part of those places.
Very touching and uplifting words.
I wanted to post something similar here after Mother's Day a few months ago. I had just visited the family cemetery plot where my mom (brain cancer), grandmother (breast cancer), grandfather (lung cancer) are all buried, and where the spot reserved for my dad (mesothelioma) would soon be occupied.
I delivered a eulogy for my dad in July, and chatted after the service with two high school classmates and a neighbor who are all battling cancer, as I am.
I hate cancer, but have been very blessed in my own journey, and just wanted to publicly express my appreciation to all the doctors and researchers who are working on cures, all the caregivers (professional and family) who keep us comfortable, and all the more distant people who pray for us, share positive thoughts and helpful advice on these forums.
While I hope to be around for a long time to come, I want to honor and thank those who will outlive me with this short "living eulogy" from the bottom of my heart.
