Sterilizing the Aerobika in the microwave
When we sterilize our Aerobika in the microwave, we must use a specially designed steam baby bottle bag. We shouldn’t use a regular Ziploc plastic baggie.
Medela and Dr. Brown are two popular brands of steam microwave bags. They are very convenient and I have used them while traveling and occasionally at home.
If you are going to use them on a vacation, you might want to practice at home. The instructions are on the bags and the time you set will vary based on the strength of the microwave.
Also, some of us are mistaking the storage bag that comes with the device for a microwave sterilizing bag. This bag is only meant for storage. Using it to microwave your Aerobika will melt your device.

Does anyone know if there is a protocol for when to start treatment with the "big three" ? I've read different opinions. Some say sooner rather than later, others say not until later ( increased symptoms and lung damage, etc) Is there a more affirmative answer?
This past April, Dr. Charles Daley from National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado talked about NTM treatment during a patient conference. I strongly suggest listening to the recording. He is considered to be the foremost expert in NTM and MAC disease.

My doctor, Dr. Swenson at Emory in Atlanta., told me I should have started treatment as soon as MAC was diagnosed. My pulmonologist at that time and a later one took a wait and see approach resulting in significant lung damage. I don’t know if it varies from patient to patient but in spite of the brutality of the treatment, I would say kill it before it wreaks havoc on your lungs.
I watched this and will watch it again several times I'm sure. Lots of good info. Thank you so much.
